He is founding member of Biosurvey.
In 2009 Achieved PhD at the University of Palermo with a PhD thesis entitled "Use of advanced technologies (Multibeam, Side Scan Sonar, Sub bottom) in coastal monitoring. He has been the holder of research grants on topics related to cartography and distribution of benthic communities in the marine environment. The research activity is aimed at the analysis, control of the coastal zone, distribution and dynamics of benthic marine communities and biotic indices, through the use of sonar technologies and remote control systems.
In addition, he has participated in several research projects related to the monitoring of coastal marine waters, taking part in planning, sampling and analysis activities with particular reference to the prairies of P. oceanica. He is the author of about 40 works published in national and international journals and in conference proceedings.
